What is the Michigan Land Title Pathway?
The Michigan Land Title Pathway is a 100% online program developed in partnership between the Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA) and Mid Michigan College. It is the first program of its kind in Michigan, designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in the title insurance industry.
The pathway consists of 30 credit hours and leads to a Michigan Land Title training credential from Mid Michigan College. In addition to the 3-credit Real Estate Transaction (BUS 299) course—developed in collaboration with the MLTA—the program includes courses in business, accounting, sales, communication, and other key areas. It also features a 2-credit internship, giving student hands-on experience in the title industry and practical knowledge of their learning. This combination provides students with a well-rounded foundation of industry knowledge and professional skills needed to succeed in title insurance and related fields.
Students must enroll at Mid Michigan College and may choose to take only the Real Estate Transaction (BUS 299) course or complete the entire Michigan Land Title Pathway for credential recognition.

Internship Host Opportunities
Hosting an intern gives your company access to emerging talent and fresh perspectives, bringing new energy and ideas to your team.
Interns can assist with meaningful projects, provide support for day-to-day operations, and contribute to innovative solutions without the cost of a full-time hire. This is also a valuable opportunity to train and evaluate potential future employees, helping you build a pipeline of skilled, pre-screened candidates. Additionally, offering internships enhances your company’s reputation by demonstrating a commitment to workforce development and community engagement, while giving current staff a chance to grow in mentorship and leadership skills. As part of the pathway, the student will complete a paid 2 credit Business Internship (BUS 291).
If you are interested in hosting an intern, please contact Amy Dykhouse at adykhouse@midmich.edu.
